Mid-Autumn Festival (Chinese Lantern Festival)

After all of the activities for the Hungry Ghosts Festival, next up is the Mid-Autumn Festival. I just learned of the stuffs that are about to happen in Chinatown this month for this event. I've also read that they also call this event as the Lantern Festival. I guess it's worth checking out.

I've never been to a Mid-Autumn Festival or Lantern Festival event in Singapore before so this year will be my first time witnessing such event. What comes to mind from hearing Mid-Autumn are moon cakes and harvested crops (although the latter sounds so western). And they are all over Singapore at the moment. I guess it's a must to have them for the sake of the festivities feel? Well, they're good food to be enjoyed after all.

I found a good site for various information for the Mid-Autumn Festival mainly taking place in Singapore's Chinatown - check it here. It will be a good thing to witness and of course, the cameras should be present for all the photo ops.

Venue: Chinatown
Date and Time: 16 September 2012, 7PM
Getting there: Alight at Chinatown North-East Line Station or somewhere along Eu Tong Sen Road or South Bridge Road
